The
style is Chinese Chippendale, this chair is part of a set (table
with matching chairs) in our breakfast room.
From
it I see the sunlight shimmering on the pool in all seasons. In
late winter, little house wrens sneak into the screened patio and
I watch them bring pine straw to build their phantom nests in the
hanging plants. Some years they actually lay their eggs there.
I
often have my afternoon tea sitting there, while I open the mail.
When my grandchildren are visiting I can see them splashing in the
pool.
It
has been a seat of peace these many years; I will miss it.
